Annabelle Hardie is an Australian accessories designer based in Madrid, Spain.
Originally from a sheep and cattle property in Outback Queensland, she couldn’t be further from home. In 2008, the designer took off with a backpack and an around-the-world ticket, and spent a year wandering all the way around the globe. The day her feet touched Spanish soil, she fell instantly, truly, madly, deeply in love with with Spain.
in 2010, Annabelle considers that she won the life lottery, she sold everything she owned and packed her bags for Madrid when she won a scholarship to study Fashion and Accessories Design at the Institute of European Design. Upon graduating from IED in 2013, Annabelle received her first bridal gown client, Sian. She also made the bridesmaids’ accessories, and from there, viola, the aisle to bridal wear opened up. It wasn’t until she fell truly, madly, deeply in love with a Madrileño who she married in the Spanish summer of 2016 while designing her wedding dress, that she decided to combine her accessories line with bridal design under one label, Annabelle Hardie.
Her pieces are inspired by nature’s beautiful imperfections and feminists that have laid the foundations of what it means to be a woman today. In 2018 Annabelle expanded into hats and crowns which she hopes one day won’t just be for the races and the polo, what better way to live out your inner Spanish Muse than with fabulous flowers in your hair?
